STAR WARS MINIATURES LEAGUE STRUCTURE

Introduction

All Star Wars Miniatures League events are designed for players of any skill level to participate in and track their results. All you need is an enthusiastic desire to destroy your foes in friendly competition. With advance notice players of Star Wars Legion or X-Wing will be available to teach you the game, but participants of the League are required to have their own models. The Star Wars Miniatures League is for Star Wars Legion and X-Wing 2.0, but might be expanded to other Star Wars related miniatures systems (Imperial Assault and Armada) if there is interest.

Joining the Star Wars Miniatures League

Joining the Star Wars Miniatures League is simple: Sign-up for the League by contacting ComicReaders Downtown, by responding to this post or by posting on the Star Wars X-Wing / Legion Regina Facebook page.

League games start Thursday, March 7 2019 and the League runs until Thursday, June 27, 2019.

We require a minimum of 4 players for the League.

There is no maximum number of players for the League.

League games are held at ComicReaders Downtown on Thursday nights for the duration of the League, but League players can arrange to play at ComicReaders Downtown on other days, too, if it is convenient for the players and if space is available at ComicReaders Downtown. The more you play the more points you accumulate!

League Games - Legion

All current releases for Star Wars Legion are legal. New releases are valid in the League as they become available.

Players do not need to submit their lists in advance but a copy of their list (in print or digital format) should be provided to your opponent prior to the game.

Lists are not required to be unique to each match, nor are they required to change between matches. You may play the same list for all your games, or change as you wish. You can also change factions-- in fact, you are encouraged to do so.

Veteran - 800 Points
An army list for Legion includes its faction, units, upgrades, command hand and battle deck. Build a legal 800 point list in accordance with the force organization chart in the most recent edition of the Star Wars: Legion rules.

New Recruit - 400 Points
An army list for Legion includes its faction, units, upgrades, command hand and battle deck. Build a legal 400 point list in accordance with the force organization chart in the most recent edition of the Star Wars: Legion rules.

League Games - X-Wing

X-Wing games can be either Hyperspace or Extended format. The format played has to be agreed upon by the players of the match.

Veteran - 200 Points
Build a legal 200 point list in accordance with the most recent edition of X-Wing 2.0 rules.

Wingman - 400 Points (total)
A wingman game is a team game in which a veteran player flies with a new player in order to teach the new player the rules of X-Wing. A wingman game can be a 3 of 4 player game. If 4 players, each player fields 200 points. In a three player game, the two player side fields 200 points each and the one player side fields 400 points. The players on a team must fly the same faction.

Battle & Bonus Points

Players accumulate points through the duration of the League:

There are a number of ways to earn and lose bonus points over the course of the League...

Prizes
Prizes are provided by ComicReaders Downtown; details of the prize will be given to the winners of each month. All the prizes are from official Fantasy Flight Organized Play kits.  A player may only win one prize each month.

Game Schedule

Star Wars Legion and X-Wing players have been meeting at ComicReaders Downtown on Thursday nights. Thursday night will still be available for Star Wars Miniatures and this time can be used for League games. But players can meet at ComicReaders Downtown on other days, too, for League games, if space is available.

The store is generally not available: Friday nights due to other events in the store. Please call ComicReaders to see if there is any room in the store. Please use the Sask Games Forums (http://sask.games/index.php?board=4.0) to find out if there are major events happening in order to help you schedule matches against other players in the League. You can use this thread to help contact other players in the Leauge or you can do so through the Star Wars X-Wing / Legion Regina Facebook page.

Please be mindful of store hours. Keep in mind how long it takes to set up and clean up a game, an hour or two may not be enough time to play a full game. Staff may ask players to leave without a time warning when it is time to close the store.

GAME PLAY/REPORTING
There is no maximum number of games you can play within a month of the League, but you cannot play the same opponent in the same game system more than once a week.

Report wins and losses along with any bonuses to ComicReaders Downtown via email (downtown@comicreaders.com) or through the forum thread or on the X-Wing / Legion Regina Facebook page.

To assist the League organizer, please report games in the following format:
Legion: Game Type (Veteran or New Recruit) - Player 1 (faction) fully-painted or unpainted vs. Player 2 (faction) fully-painted or unpainted. Winner. Loser.
X-Wing: Game Type (Veteran or Wingman) - Player(s) (faction) vs. Players (faction). Winner. Loser.

If you are spectating games, please refrain from helping players with strategy or influencing players' decisions. If there is a rule error or clarity of a rule is under dispute, if you know the answer, refrain from simply telling the players what the rule is, but instead find evidence in the rulebook or FAQ / Errata.

Thanks

This League would not be possible without the dedication of ComicReaders' staff.
