GAME: Galactic Payload
DESIGNER: Nathan Ottenson
START TIME: 1:00 pm
DURATION: 2 hours

1.
2.
3.
4.

The goal of Galactic Payload is to be the first to colonize your home planet. Players accomplish this by trading the resources their home planet produces with trading outposts spread out through six separate sectors across the galaxy. The trade conditions dynamically change every turn for every sector. Players may also spend resources to upgrade their ship and to build mining outposts that passively collect more resources every turn.

Every ship produces 'Powercubes' on every turn. These 'Powercubes' are then spent to move across the galaxy and then allocated to the players ship systems such as Shields, Weapons or Thrusters. These are used to protect the player from hazards such as Pirates and other players. The first player to return six units of each resource that their home planet does not produce wins the game.

GAME: First Past the Post
DESIGNER: Derek Turner
START TIME: 3:00 pm
DURATION: 2 hours (+20 minutes discussion time afterward)

First Past the Post is an area control game set in the wild and wacky world of Canadian politics. Players compete as parties to gain popularity in various areas of the country, each of which provides the parties with more popularity with a special ability. The game involves managing your popularity across the country and translating it into influence over the course of the five rounds that simulate the length of a Canadian electoral campaign. At the end of the game, the influence will translate into seats, and the parties will find out who wins the House of Commons!

This will be only the third play test of First Past the Post, so players will be enabled and encouraged to give significant feedback on the game in a short discussion afterward.
