You're right, Maeson they can't. I should have been a bit more specific - there were 3 buildings clumped close together and the 2 brutes where in amongst them (not actually in them) using them to block my line of sight either completely or providing hard cover.

In that case always take some form of bolt thrower with elves Allan...they come in handy(I am only saying that you because you mentioned you were unhappy with your list).

Actually I had 2 bolt throwers, just they were having a hard time getting shots off due to the buildings in the way.

Thanks guys for rapping up your game.  Big Congrats to Justin for winning the Warhammer Fantasy Winter 2013/14 League!  I find it quit impressive that Justin managed to roll on through the High Elves and the Dark Elves to win the final.  Allan and Justin can both pick up their prizes at Comic Readers.

I hope that everyone had fun.  I for one got about eight or ten games in but my real joy was getting so much painting done.  I painted up several lords, a monster (ghorgon), several rank n'file, and built and painted a chariot conversion.  I also managed to paint some terrain that includes a Beastmen tent that Maeson had converted and gave to me.  The greatest part of this is that I finally based a whole whack of models that I had painted but never completed their base.  I don't' have exact numbers but this is over 50 additional models.  My army of Beastmen is very near complete.  And now, the most models not painted are the 12 minotaurs.  Again, I hope that everyone had a good time.

Later,
Robert

Figured since Rob sent me a PM this morning.

ComicReaders will be starting up the Fantasy Escalation league in June.

I'll post details in May, what you can expect:
  • ability to change lists month to month, NOT game to game
  • escalation months extended to 4 months: 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500
  • 2500 tournament will be the Top 8 in escalation (this is subject to changed based on player activity, if lots of people are active then I will attempt to make the tournament bigger)
  • prize allocation will be slightly different than what I currently have in place for the 40k league
