Team Trios *Magic: The Gathering*

DESCRIPTION
In this format, teams of three players are given twelve Theros booster packs to form their pool of cards. With these packs, teams work to build the best three decks (40 card minimum including any number of basic land) they can in the allotted time. The remaining pool of cards are then divided amongst the team and become each individual member's sideboard. Once your team has registered its decks (and its sideboards) you won't be able to make any changes. You are not allowed to swap cards with your teammates between games (or matches), and you are not allowed to sideboard in cards from their sideboards.

Once decks are built, teams assign a player letter A, B, or C. They are then matched up against the corresponding letters of another team each round. As the individual matches play out, the first team to win two individual matches is considered the winning team for each round.

The unique aspects of the Team Trio format is that a moderate amount of communication and advice can be offered by team mates during the matches.

If a team member drops out of the event before the end of the event, the entire team is dropped from the event.

At the end of the event, each player gets to keep their deck and sideboard.

The top team of the day will be awarded a full booster box of Theros to divide evenly among their three players.

Special thanks to long-time MTG player Shane Horton for suggesting this format.

Shane has provided a clarification: All 3 matches must be played out to their entirety as it makes for settling tiebreakers a lot easier. So it is possible for a team to win their collective match 3-0 which sets them ahead of those teams that go 2-1, so all teams are encouraged to play out all their matches as it can make a difference in the end.

Fantastic. There has been a lot of interest expressed but Sharknado is the first team to officially register!

Hey Chad, you should run this again, it was super fun. Sundays only please. Not on Thanksgiving or Christmas! Thanks, Curt

If this happens again as a limited event, let me know! I remember playing 3-man sealed ages ago at some sorta event out of town (most likely either a pre-release, release or ptqq) and it was tons of fun.
Got a request for a game, check out this link right here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/t_shak I'd be more than glad to bring any of these out to play.
