The game of Battlestar Galactica
This is the thread to discuss the game of Battlestar Galactica, any variants, likes, dislikes, etc.

Description
After the Cylon attack on the Colonies, the battered remnants of the human race are on the run, constantly searching for the next signpost on the road to Earth. They face the threat of Cylon attack from without, and treachery and crisis from within. Humanity must work together if they are to have any hope of survival…but how can they, when any of them may, in fact, be a Cylon agent?

Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game is an exciting game of mistrust, intrigue, and the struggle for survival. Based on the epic and widely-acclaimed new Sci Fi Channel series, Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game puts players in the role of one of ten of their favorite characters from the show. Each playable character has their own abilities and weaknesses, and must all work together in order for humanity to have any hope of survival. However, one or more players in every game secretly side with the Cylons. Players must attempt to expose the traitor while fuel shortages, food contaminations, and political unrest threatens to tear the fleet apart.

Includes:
10 character cards

high-quality card board tokens
hundreds of cards
game board with resource counters

Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game is a semi-cooperative game for 3-6 players ages 10 and up that can be played in 2-3 hours.

Some additional thought on the game:

(1) I think this is a great cooperative game that does a very good job of portraying a theme and creating suspense during game play. The games I have played are all in the 3-4 hour range though and this is a game that just should not be rushed. Make sure you have a 4-5 hour time slot to set up and play this to do it justice. I also think this is a game that benefits a lot by having players get into their roles. The interaction of the players is a significant part of the enjoyment factor.

(2) The game can be overwhelming for first time players as the game introduces some interesting mechanics and dynamics. The first time I played, this uncertainty just added to the desperate nature of the game. Don't worry if you do not completely understand it, dive in, learn as you go, make mistakes, and do not be shy about putting someone in the brig. :)

I agree with Matt that this is a very strong theme game. I really enjoyed stepping into the role of my favorite character from the show (Saul Tigh) and getting into character. I really felt the tension in the game-- the ever present threat of the Cylons and the vulnerability of Gallactica and the Fleet. I think I will enjoy it even more now that I have one game under my belt. I gave it seven out of ten stars, but that may increase after additional plays.

So overwhelming for everyone in fact that the first time we played Matt forgot to insert the Toasters into the game and despite that we almost lost as human  :neener

FYI:
Just added a link to another expansion that is coming out for Battlestar Galactica.

Editorial note: I did not find that the Pegasus Expansion added much to the game. To me, an expansion that adds complexity without increasing the fun is of dubious value. I will be interested to see what the next expansion brings to the game.

Here is my review for Exodus.  Fantastic expansion.

I agree Pegasus was a take it or leave it and I wasn't too keen on Cylon Leaders and New Cap city from Pegasus, but having the Pegasus Battlestar is a must when playing with Exodus.  Otherwise you could see the Galactica die and early death.
