This is a rip-off of Colin's Top 100 that he did here earlier in the year.  Here's his list:

Mine is a top 25 instead of a top 100 because I've made my cut-off the point about where I'd no longer consider the games I'd be listing among my favourites.  Plus ( :idea) it'll only take me a quarter of the time this way!

But before I get to the top 25, here are a couple of games that I considered including but left out because I've only tried them once and don't think I have enough experience to judge them properly.

Claustrophobia: Humans vs. Demons in unexplored underground tunnels.  One play simply isn't enough to judge a game with assymetrical sides and a bunch of scenarios.  I really liked it, but wouldn't know how to rank it up against games that I have a better understanding of.  But this could be one of the best "Dudes in a Corridor" games out there.

Pax Porfiriana: A card game of rich Mexican businessmen and land owners competing to wrest control of Mexico from the clutches of dictator Porfirio Diaz.  Its rules are complex and there seems to be a lot of depth to this one, so I'd have to play it a couple more times to confirm it's among my favourite.  Super impressed, though.  I especially appreciate how much historical research was applied by the designers and how well that history comes through while playing.

The wife and I opened our gifts already since we'll be away from home for the holidays.  The wife got me  Eclipse.  I considered trading it in since a friend of mine already has it, and I'm mildly worried that it'll effectively retire my copy of Twilight Imperium 3, but then she said she was excited to try it, which made it a definite keeper.
