General Discussion / Shelving for Games?
May 23, 2023, 02:45:45 PM
I've seen this discussion lots online, but I'm curious what people in the area use for their games. Right now, I have a collection of assorted shelves that I've accumulated over the years. However, they've kinda been scattered all over the place, and I'd like to condense everything down so it's just in one area after I'm doing moving. My collections floating around the 100-ish games (including expansions) number at the moment, so I think two tall-ish shelves should do the trick? I have a decent 6' tall (approx.) shelf, but I noticed the shelves on that warped a fair bit after holding all my D&D books and stuff like that.

Anyways, what do y'all use? Where'd you find yours?

Marketplace / May Moving mmmm...Sale
May 17, 2023, 09:12:26 PM
Welp, house is sold, and I'm making a pile of stuff that's not coming with me. It's pretty much the same list as last time, but everything's on clearance. Everything below I will sell for $25 per game or $150 for the remaining lot. Hoping they get a happy home?

Shadows over Camelot
Penny Arcade: Gamers vs Evil (includes the expansion and promo cards as well)
Arctic Scavengers (I believe this has all expansions)
Ascension (base game plus some expansions and promos)
Marvel Legendary: Villains (includes one expansion)

Risk Godstorm
Pokemon Monopoly Kanto Edition
Tokaido
Pathfinder Rise of the Runelords base set
Quarriors!

I also have a stack of the old World of Warcraft TCG including two of the raid dungeons, I'll sell the whole pile for a crisp fiver.

I'll probably make a separate post for it, but I also have the remainder of my MtG collection as well I'd like to get rid of.

Howdy folks, I'm looking to clear out some of my stuff before I move at <some point> in the near future. The first round of items that I want to get rid of is below. I'll accept any reasonable offer, and am willing to offer a better rate if someone wants to take multiple items off my hands. Everything is in good condition; if anythings out of order I'll note it below as well. Some boxes might be slightly dinged up? If there's any concerns I can send photos before a sale is finalized.

EDIT: Added prices. Some might be inflated in value slightly due to them being out of print for a while. I am however willing to work out a reasonable price, especially if someone's looking to pick up multiple games at once.

Top Race - $50
Penny Arcade - Gamers vs Evil (+Rumble in R'lyeh and misc promos) - $55
Arctic Scavengers (Base + HQ + Recon) - $50
Legendary Encounters: Predator - $25 SOLD
Marvel Legendary - Villains (standalone expansion, plus Fear Itself expansion) - $100
Quarriors - I believe either one of the die or cards was missing when I received it originally. - $20
Marvel Dice Masters - assorted die from the AvX expansion and other sets from around that time period - $10
Monopoly Pokemon, Kanto edition - $20
Risk Godstorm (still in shrink) - $20
Tokaido - $20
Pathfinder - Rise of the Runelords base game - $25
Ascension - Base game plus Darkness Unleashed, Immortal Heroes, Rise of Vigil and Leprechaun theme pack - $90
Cards Against Humanity - Base Game, 2012 Holiday Pack, 90s Nostalgia Pack, First Expansion, Second Expansion, The Bigger, Blacker Box - $20 SOLD
Shadows over camelot - missing one of the player figures (was missing at time of purchase) - $80
Pamplona - $5
World War Z - $1
Cheap Shot (with expansion) - $1

I'm hoping for sale here, but I'd also accept trade; I'm looking for:

Azul (the original, preferably)
My Farm Shop
Roll Player
Clank! Catacombs
A Feast for Odin Expansions
Dice Forge Rebellion
Russian/Ultimate Railroads
For Sale

...if anyone got the new version of Libertalia and didn't like it, I'd also be willing to trade the original version ;p

Game Discussion / Looking For Players - Arcadia Quest
October 19, 2019, 11:18:30 PM
Good day everyone,

I've had plenty of success looking for D&D players (thank you everyone for your interest) and I've now got multiple steady campaigns going. I still have free time and I've been itching like crazy to get one of my favourite board games to the table: Arcadia Quest.

For the uninitiated, AQ is a tactical board game that plays somewhat similar to Dungeons & Dragons, minus the role playing. (Well, when I've played we always like to insert our own stories as we play, but anyways) Up to 4 players build a team of 3 heroes and try to overcome enemies and each other in pursuit of different goals. In each scenario, there are usually 2 Player versus Environment goals, and a number of Player vs Player Goals equal to the number of players. In order to beat the scenario, a player must complete 3 goals; at least one must be a PvE goal, and at least one must be a PvP goal. As you play each scenario, defeating enemies will net you rewards in the form of gold coins. If you complete the PvE goals you can earn special rewards; at the end of every scenario you can use your gold to purchase treasure in the form of upgrades for your team for the next scenario.

A typical campaign is 6 scenarios long, and it gets more challenging as you go on. There are also different options for a short co-operative campaign after you finish the base one. (I also have about 4 different campaigns to choose from, and in those campaigns, you actually get to select different scenarios every time, so there's a lot of variety.)

In any case, it's a really fun game. The biggest down side is that it *is* a little luck heavy, since the mechanics rely heavily on die rolls. If anyone is interested in learning the game, I could potentially schedule it for a Chewsday Challenge or something as a demo some time. Like I said, it's one of my favourites. The minis are beautiful (I'll paint them one day, I swear!!) and the swinginess of the die rolls can sometimes make for some hilarious moments.

I'd like to get 3 other players to get to the maximum amount. Right now, I'm leaning towards Saturday or Sundays, afternoon or evenings.

If you're interested please reply or DM. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Check out the link for more details on the game and to look at the pretty pretty components. I have basically ALL the expansions for this game that I can think of.

Howdy y'all, I'm representing my D&D group here in Regina. We've got about 4 people in our group right now, and we think we have room for one more person. Our GM is looking to run the Dragon Heist module, which if we keep a similar pace to the one we set with Curse of Strahd, we'd expect (I think) about 3 months. In the past, we've had a really solid run of pre-scheduling all our games.

I think the person we're looking for:

-Can have any level of experience
-Doesn't necessarily need books (we can share if you don't have any)
-Can commit to a schedule (we arrange a game, then schedule our next one after the session is over)
-Is okay with hanging out with a handful of middle-aged dudes I guess?

If anyone is interested please reply or send me a PM for more details. We're probably looking at Saturday nights.
