If you have volunteered for saskgames events in the past you are given access to the helpers threads which are in the staff section.  If you haven't volunteered in the past but want to get involved talk to Derek Turner (lifeofturner).   :)

Thanks for this info. I also went looking for the thread.
I tried to volunteer for PGX this year but was told I wasn't needed so maybe access to the thread will give me other ways to get involved.

How late do these nights usually go? I have some other events on Tuesdays and I'm wondering if it's worth stopping by after.

Thanks :)

I was there until 11 last night and there was still one more group playing.

Thanks!

Game Discussion / School Board Games Club
January 24, 2018, 06:29:20 AM
I am starting a board games club at my school for students in grades 4-8.  I have some ideas of how it will run and the types of games we will start with.  However, if anyone has experience in starting this type of club, or working with a large group of students in this age range I would love to hear your tips and tricks.

Also, we are looking for some games to get this off the ground.  If you have suggestions of games you would recommend to new players ages 8-14 please let me know.  I do have a small budget to work with to purchase a few games.

Thanks to Mike for teaching me 7 Wonders, Murray for inviting me to play 5 Minute Dungeon, and someone whose name I didn't get (sorry) for letting me play Captain Sonar.  This was my most enjoyable PGX of the three I have attended.  :)
You're welcome.  Glad you enjoyed the game(s) and PGX.  Perhaps we can expect to see you at future PGX's and maybe even other regular game events sometime.

I've been to a few PGX's in the past, but was always too shy/nervous to get too involved.  That is also what has kept me from attending Tuesday events. I hope to come out to one at some point, but it still seems very intimidating.  (I'm also booked up on Tuesday with a class now until the end of March).  I will work hard to overcome my fear/intimidation and make it out to some more events I am sure.
Thanks again :)

I want to learn how to play 7 wonders, but if I can do that from 12:00 - 1:00 I can volunteer at the registration table from 1:00 - 2:00.
