This is really unfortunate. The Sask Games forum was always a useful resource. This community grew and flourished not because of any individual person's effort, but because of the combined effort of volunteers, the admins keeping the site going, and of course the community itself. I'm more than aware of the challenges involved in trying to build a community, and as such I really can't thank everyone enough involved for all the hard work through out the years that really built things up. I hope in the future people are able to connect and share our hobbies and continue to make new connections through these bizarre times.
Edit: also, I'm glad I was able to make a bunch of new friends through the site; quite a few of which I'm still friends with today. Since I'm not on social media, I might not be able to see people as much in the future, but if there's anyone I've gamed with in the past that wants to stay in touch, please feel free to shoot me a DM and I'll give you my discord/mobile info. Peace and love.

GAME: Small World: Underground TEACHER: Tyler P START TIME: 6:30 PM DURATION: 45-90 minutes # OF PLAYERS: 2-5 URL: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/97786/small-world-undergroundI was trying to think of something spooooooky to bring out seing as this is the last CC before the H'ween. In past years, I usually would bring out Legendary Encounters: Alien, as it's an excellent deckbuilder that captures the feeling of the "Alien" movies, especially the first one; I happen to find that movie pretty scary, even if it has nothing to do with spooky day. AAAANYWHO, I figured I'd change it up this time by bringing out a variation on one of the games that brought me into this hobby, Small World. For those unfamiliar, in this version, you're competing for control of an underground fantasy realm filled with monsters and treasures. Of course, this time, you ARE the monsters, mostly. All versions of Small World are great alternatives to games like Risk and Axis & Allies, especially if you don't like the randomness of dice rolls, and the undetermined length of games. You gain control of regions using simple numbers, and the game length is a set amount of rounds, determined by the amount of players. Whoever has the most gold coins at the end (gained by controlling territories) wins!

I'd like to bring this one out one more time, new or returning players are welcome! GAME: Stardew Valley TEACHER: Tyler "Tempest" Polishak START TIME: 6:30 p.m. DURATION: approx. 45 minutes per player # OF PLAYERS: Up to 4 1. Tempest 2. NeikeDjour (please confirm) 3. 4. BGG Link: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/332290/stardew-valley-board-gameAfter playing it a few times recently, to update a previous description, it's a co-op game about farming and friendship where the only thing contrasting the original "chill" sandbox nature of the indie game of the same name is that you must complete a series of goals within a limited time. To accomplish this, you'll have to work together with everyone to plan out your turns and work around the luck-based challenges to the best of your abilities. All that to say again, that this is game is absolutely charming; the board and all the components are absolutely beautiful, in my opinion. While the overall strategy can be a little bit difficult, precise, and luck-based, overall the game itself is very straightforward and easy to understand. Thank you for reading another episode of Tyler's mini-reviews.

GAME: Stardew Valley TEACHER: Tyler START TIME: 6:30 PM DURATION: 3 hours (could be less, but want to be safe) # OF PLAYERS: Up to 4 URL: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/332290/stardew-valley-board-gameExcited to be bringing this one out! Ended up ordering this one online and it's finally here! The quick summary is that this is a pretty faithful recreation of the popular indie game of the same name. It's a game all about farming, mining, fishing and making friends. It's 100% co-operative and requires a high degree of co-ordination (and maybe a little luck) to win.

I didn't interact with Miles a whole bunch, but he was a nice guy from what I remember. My condolences for all his friends and family.

Since it looks like I may actually have people to play with in person again, I think I'd like to scoop up Civ. I can do the $90, but if there's anything you're looking for in trade to bring it down a bit, let me know.

Acknowledging that I would always prefer supporting local stores before any sort of big box stores, if you don't have any luck, I noticed Wal-mart has it in stock, of all places.
