ComicReaders Downtown is able to run official Transformers TCG tournaments.

The Transformers TCG is a fast-paced trading card game for 2 players. Build a team of Transformers Character Cards and a deck of Battle Cards and jump right into battle!

This tournament will be Constructed format, where each player brings their own pre-built deck.

All character cards and some battle cards have a number of stars near the bottom of the cards. The total number of stars on your character cards and battle cards combined must be 25 or less. As long as you don't go over the 25-star limit you can have as many characters on your team as you want. You can't have more than one of each unique character (based on its full card name).

You will also need a deck of at least 40 battle cards. Types of battle cards include Action and Upgrade cards. You can have up to 3 of the same battle card in your deck.

The tournament will be Swiss-style. The number of rounds will depend on the number of players.

Each participant will receive 1 Flamewar and 1 Private Red Alert promo card.

Players are required to have a Wizards Play Network ID (called DCI). If you do not have one of these you can get one very easily at ComicReaders Downtown when you come for the event.

We need at least 4 players for this event.

Turbo Mode is a two-pack sealed event. It's a fast-paced, low entry way to play the Transformers Trading Card Game.

Each player buys and opens two packs of War of Cybertron. Your team is the two characters you opened, even if they're the same character or have a total of more than 25 stars. Shuffle all the battle cards from your two packs to form your 14-card deck.

Your open hand is 1 card, not the usual 3.
The player with the least total stars on their team goes first.
Before the first turn, count the difference in total stars between the two teams. The player with the most total stars puts damage counters on their characters equal to that difference.

Each player will receive 1 Flamewar and 1 Private Red Alert card for taking part in the event.

We need a minimum of four players. There is no player maximum.

What is sealed? As in drafting you do not need to bring a constructed deck to play sealed. Each player receives 6 packs of Opus IX for the $30 entry fee.

Players build their deck from 6 packs. This means everyone will end up with 6×12 cards.

The deck built must contain 40 cards (down from 50).

You can play as many copies of a card in that deck as you want. But can only have one of the same name on the field unless they have the 3 Card Icon.

When playing, you lose the game after receiving 6 points of damage (down from 7).

Backups produce CP of an element of your choice from your hand when paying for CP. They still produce their respected element when dulled.

Forwards/Monsters/Summons/Abilities must be payed by CP of correct element.

DESCRIPTION

Like with a normal Sealed event, each player buys and opens a deck before the start of the event. Unlike a normal Sealed event, after all players have opened and registered their decks, each deck is placed on a table. Players are arranged in a random order around the table. The event organizer then randomly selects and calls out a deck.

That deck’s owner must start by bidding 0 chains. Then, in clockwise order, other players may bid higher than the current bid, or pass on bidding further for that deck. When all players have passed, the highest bidder wins that deck to use for the duration of the tournament and passes bidding on all other decks. Repeat the process for each deck. If a deck is randomly selected and its owner has already won the bid for another deck, the next player in clockwise order must place the initial bid of 0 chains for that deck.

Players start each game in that tournament with chains equal to their highest bid for the deck they are using. At the end of the event, each deck returns to the person who originally purchased and opened it.

The Sealed format is less appealing to some players because they have little control over the houses or cards they play with. The Auction variant allows players to still have some control over what they use for the tournament. Similar to the Adaptive variant, the bid chains also serve as a balancing mechanic to bring decks in line with each other.

DESCRIPTION

This event has a $30 entry fee.

ComicReaders Downtown is holding a World Martial Arts Tournament Draft Tournament.

For this tournament, each player will receive 6 packs of World Martial Arts Tournament which they will use to build a deck. You cannot use cards from anything other than the booster packs given to you at the event.

Players are broken into pods of 4 players. (If the total number of players is not divisible by 4 then the number of players per pod will vary.)

We need a minimum of 4 players for this event.

This tournament supports a maximum of 16 players.

DRAFT RULES

Each player takes their specified boosters for the draft, and sits in a circle in randomly chosen order. Pods will consist of 4 players per pod.

All players open their boosters and count the number of cards without looking at the card faces. If a booster contains more or less cards than it should, immediately call a judge.

Each player takes a card of their choosing from the booster they opened, and passes the remaining cards face-down to the player to their left.

If a player has not yet taken a Leader Card, when they open/are passed a booster which includes a Leader Card/Cards, they must take one of them. If a player is forced to do so, they are allowed to take an additional non-Leader card from that booster.

A player cannot take a second Leader Card until all players have taken at least one Leader Card.

Repeat the steps until all cards from the first pack have been drafted and then repeat until all cards from all packs have been drafted. However, for the second, fourth, and sixth boosters, players pass the remaining cards to their right instead of their left.

After the draft, players use their cards to construct a 41-card deck with 40 Battle/Extra Cards and a Leader Card.

Players can now play matches with the other players using the deck they just constructed.

Players who were unable to draft a Leader Card during the draft must use a Leader Card obtained from outside the draft. We recommend randomly selecting a Leader Card from the sets used for the draft.

This will be a Swiss-style tournament.

Prizes
- Each player who takes part in the tournament will receive one Power Booster: World Martial Arts Tournament.
- Top 4 players receive 1 pack of World Martial Arts Tournament + 1 SS Broly Unforeseen Force card.
- Top 2 players receive 2 packs of World Martial Arts Tournament.
- Top player receives 4 packs of World Martial Arts + 1 pack of DBS card sleeves.

ComicReaders Downtown is holding a Miraculous Revival Sealed Tournament.

Sealed is a format where multiple players take unopened packs, open them, and make decks out of the cards they get from those packs. Players then play each other with those decks. For this tournament, each player will receive 6 packs of Miraculous Revival which they will use to build a deck. You cannot use cards from anything other than the booster packs given to you at the event.

You play games in this format using a deck made of One Leader card and 40 non-Leader cards. Any cards you do not use to make your deck can be used in your side deck. Leader cards can also be used in your side deck.

Players may exchange cards from their decks with cards in their side decks between games. As long as the number of cards in a player’s main deck remains the same, there are no limits to the number of cards that can be swapped out.

You don’t lose if you run out of cards in your main deck. Simply take the cards in your Drop Area and Warp and shuffle them back into your deck.

Matches consist of a set number of games. The player who wins two games wins the match.

This tournament will be a Swiss-style tournament with the number of rounds determined by the number of players.

We need a minimum of 6 players to run this tournament.

This event supports a maximum of 10 players.

For the first match, players are paired with each other at random.
For the second match onward, players are paired against players with similar point totals.

- Players are allowed to drop out following the end of their currently assigned match.

DESCRIPTION

With Adaptive Archon, each player brings a deck.

Each round of this tournament consists of best-of-three matches. For the first game of each match, players use their own decks. For the second game, each player swaps decks with his or her opponent and plays using his or her opponent’s deck.

If the third game occurs, players bid chains to use the deck which won both of the previous games. The player who brought the deck starts by bidding 0 chains, and then the players take turns outbidding each other until a player declines to bid higher. The player who bid the highest uses that deck for the third game (with their bid number of chains applied at the start).

Philosophy:
Chains are a balancing mechanic built into the base rules of KeyForge. They can be utilized to allow two decks with a large difference in strength to play at roughly even footing. This helps to emphasize the skill of the player over the strength of an individual deck and allows each player the chance to do well with whatever deck they happen to use.

This is NOT a Chainbound event.
