Role Playing Games / Through the Breach once more!
« on: August 25, 2022, 11:06:25 AM »
Looking for player who may be interested in playing in a Through the Breach campaign.
Through the Breach is the RPG based on the popular skirmish game Malifaux, and is a really unique and astonishing setting.  Filled with steampunk wild west, jet pack wearing gremlins, nightmare creatures come to life, changelings, necromancers, magicians, crime families.... the list goes on and on.
For anyone interested please drop me a line and feel free to ask any questions or throw your hat in the ring.
We haven't picked a day/time yet as we want it to be a full group discussion.

Miniatures Games / MALIFAUX in the Queen City

Are there any players out there interested in Malifaux?  Possibly looking to start up a league in regina and surrounding area so I'm just inquiring to see if anyone else has any interest in it or might want to learn more?

Does it have to be 5E?
I'm currently designing a Flintlock Fantasy setting with a Westmarch Style setup.  The caveat being that I'm using the Genesys RPG rules for it.

We'll be running two tables of DnD Adventurers League again.  If you're interested you can contact me on Facebook.  Garth Westphal. Or join the FB group for Regina AL. //306 D&D Adventurers League//

We're going to be running D&D AL again.  If possible we'd like to reserve the two round tables for 7pm.

To post a game for Chewsday Challenge, please quote this reply and fill in the relevant information

I'm just posting here to see what kind of interest there is within the city of Regina for a Vampire 5th (the newest) edition game.

@ Chad: We've tried the Chewsday challenges before and found it pretty insular.  That could be again because we're older and don't feel like inserting ourselves into groups of people.  But we also found that most of the people there already know each other, and stick to their own 'cliques' for lack of a better term.  I've personally found the game stores more focused on boardgames and card games as well as miniatures, and there's nothing wrong with that, I know those are the money makers.

@Erik: A new group or new players I suppose.  I've relegated myself to looking online though or heading to Saskatoon where I know a few more of the gamer populace.

Nod.  I play on Roll20 but enjoy an in person game much more.  Could be that's just the way to go.

Yeah I was looking at the Expo, but it was all Path/Star-finder.

I totally agree, I've just found it hard to actually start a group.  I'm 40 so I'm leery of asking the 'new generation' of gamers for fear of being 'the creepy old guy'.

So what avenues are there to find new games to join or new players to form a group?  Why has it become so hard to find new RPG groups?  Do they just not exist anymore?  I blame boardgames. :P

This forum just seems so dead to me, barely anyone posting.

Why haven't they done more of these if they were so successful?

Would there be any interest in an Adventure League Epic?

DDEP07-01 Peril at the Port is the name of the Epic Adventure only available at conventions, and it would require a minimum of 4 tables to qualify.  That being said i'd be happy to run one of those tables and try to convince a few others to run some as well if there was enough interest.

Comic Readers would have to fill out the form to get the module though.

Have you ever thought of doing Adventurers League?

In fact, would there be any interest in doing the Adventurers League here in Regina?  I think Saskatoon does a weekly night of it, and I've thought about starting it here in Regina but I wasn't sure if there would be any interest in it as last time someone tried it faltered out.

Whats the cost to get into this game?  I like the setting, think the models are quite neat, but dislike that they're so bloody expensive.  So I'm just wondering with the new version of the rules and all what the cost to start up a base group for myself would be?
