  • LARP: Pillars of the Camarilla - Saskatoon

The Pillars of the Camarilla, which will be a new addition to FRAG Games day's starting March 26th , is a Live Action Role Play (LARP) game that has been running in Regina for over two years.  The game takes place in the White Wolf company's World of Darkness and has been set in an 'alternate' Earth.  A world very much like our own, where life goes on as normal, but one where everything is bleaker; crime and poverty is rampant, desperation is the watchword, monsters exist and are pulling society's strings from the shadows, "cats and dogs...living together!".

   You get the idea.

'Pillars' uses White Wolf''s Mind's Eye Theatre (MET) rule system, which is remarkably easy to pick up and requires little or no record keeping, allowing for a heavy emphasis on role playing, social interaction, and political intrigue.  The original 'Pillars' game, which runs the first Saturday of every month at the North East Community Centre, is set in a dark version of Regina, one which is under a constant state of siege by enemies who are intent on destroying the player's Vampire characters.  The FRAG 'Pillars' game will, at least initially, be much lighter in tone.  While it will be set in the same 'universe' as the Regina game, it will take place in that world's version of Saskatoon.  Saskatoon does not face the same external threats that Regina does, however, it is rife with internal dissension and political maneuverings, creating an atmosphere full of great role-playing opportunities.

The Storytellers, Dan Bengert – who started 'Pillars' two years ago, and David Wood – the new  guy, will be on hand early at the games day, to help new players with pre-generated characters and experienced players create new characters.  Players of any experience will be welcome but due to the nature of the story-lines, we recommend the game for adults only (some of the characters and scenes are far too dark for younger players – these are the living dead, after all and no...they're not sparkly).

So please feel welcome to come out and join us for a fun and challenging role-playing experience.  After all, anyone can just roll a Charisma check, it takes a real role-player to actually talk their way way out of their own execution.

If you want to play, please e-mail

  • LARP: The Shadow Files

For centuries, magicians and monsters have hidden themselves in the shadows. But in the bright light of the Information Age, concealment has become impossible. Creatures of the shadows have been relegated to the fringes of society. There, alongside criminals, radicals and the disenfranchized they have found their place. It is known as the occult underworld, and these are its stories.

    The Mummy

Egypt, 1928 - It is a legend, alluded to on scraps of papyrus and faded temple frescoes, spoken of in whispers by tomb-robbers and legitimate scholars. The tomb of a great priest, cursed by the gods and buried in a hidden tomb filled with death-traps, wrapped in dire curses. Now, it seems as if the tomb will again see the light of day...but what lurks within?

Part 1 - The Mummy's Tomb   (Afternoon - 2 PM start): A tabletop roleplaying scenario for 2-8 players. A tomb has been uncovered, where no tomb should be. Now, a team of archeologists and experts will open the tomb and discover what lies inside.

Part 2 - The Curse of the Mummy (Evening - 7 PM start): A live-action scenario. The mysterious tomb has been opened, and its contents claimed by the authorities. Now, in New York, the grand opening of the tomb exhibit has attracted a diverse (and often strange) crowd. What horrors does the tomb still hold?
