Twice a year the local gaming community in Moose Jaw get together for a full weekend of gaming in all of its various forms, known by us as GAX.

GAX is organized by a fine group of lads that have come to call themselves the Moose Jaw Gamer's Association.
- The event has a high speed internet network for PC and console gamers to come together into one huge LAN party.
- Projection screens show off some of the latest console video games.
- Plenty of old console games will also be set up so you can revisit those games from years past.

Computer or console games not your thing?  Me neither!  Come and join the boardgame and rpg side of the party, where both organized events and an open gaming atmosphere will be set up. Try out some of the games provided with one of our volunteers happy to teach it to you, or bring your own favorites and meet new people.  Play a weekend long RPG campaign marathon with one of our volunteer GMs.  Heck, bring your own friends and just come for the free food and drink, that's okay too.

The entire weekend event is $10, or $30 if you want to join in on the LAN party side.  All proceeds from GAX will be going towards local charities and other good causes.  Location and times are below.

Hi all, I thought I would extend an invite to our gaming event from our little city to all of you.

A group of us here in Moose Jaw have enjoyed a twice-yearly LAN party, lovingly called GAX.  The organizers rent a hall, people often bring their computers, and we break out the video games.  GAX has grown in size over the years, and also has grown in the scope of games played.  In fact, tabletop games have gotten so big in the last few events that we almost outnumbered the videogamers in the last GAX this past winter.   We had a bunch of Pathfinder RPG sessions, and the range of tabletop games.  The games that I myself played that weekend included: One Night Ultimate werewolf (the hit of that weekend); Neuroshima Hex; The Resistance; Suburbia; Firefly; Pathfinder adventure card game; Cosmic Encounter; Caverna; Dominant Species; and I'm sure I'm forgetting others (I got a bit burned out as I recall).  The local game shop even donated a copy of King of Tokyo plus its expansion for giveaway.

Anyhow, anyone who wants to meet some new people and have a fun weekend of gaming is welcome to come and join us.  The organizers collect $10 from everyone, and they provide free dinner on Saturday night.  Any money left over gets donated to one of the local charities afterwards.  I went on their site (mjga.ca) and pasted the event's hours and location below.  It IS just a short drive from Regina, and short-ish drive from much of the rest of Saskatchewan...
