Archive of Marketplace Items / Dragon Dice - For Sale
« on: February 01, 2020, 02:16:33 PM »
I have an old collection of the original and first expansion Dragon Dice, printed by TSR, from the 90s. It's a bit of mish-mash of pieces, without any of the rares or monsters. My brother thinks those got left behind at a friend's house over 25 years ago... so they aren't likely to be found as I continue to go through old stuff at home! I will include the promise of any future findings, should there be any though.

Very hard to price these, but if you are a collector, or are interested in them, just let me know! I'm sure we can work something easy out.

Here is a summary as best as I can tell:
Coral Elves (blue and green) - 48 common, 27 uncommon
Dwarves (red and gold) - 49 common, 25 uncommon
Goblins (gold and black) - 74 common, 19 uncommon
Lava Elves (red and black) - 50 common, 27 uncommon
Amazons (ivory with purple icons) - 53 common, 25 uncommon
Firewalkers (blue and red)  - 41 common, 24 uncommon
Undead (black and ivory with green icons) - 4 common, 5 uncommon
Ferals (gold and blue) - 49 common, 24 uncommon
Coastland - 6
Highland - 7
Flatland - 6
Swampland - 4
Yellow - 5
Blue - 3
Green - 3
Red - 1
Rules booklet, Reference folder, Reference screen (rough), Spell cards, Tokens (I think they are part of this game?), Area mats, Bag (rough), Empty boxes (Starter set, Kicker-Firewalkers, Kicker-Ferals)

As a fundraiser for our PWYF Team, Necrotech: Reanimate Your Life, we will be screening one of the worst movies ever made - The Room.

Tickets: $20 each, Limited to around 20 people
Time: Saturday, October 6 - 8:00 pm

BYOB, because you will need it! We will also have fun games to play during the game (every bad movie needs rules!), and we will provide spoons to throw at the screen (you'll see...)!

All money goes to the Souls Harbour Rescue Mission.

There is an upcoming biopic about the making of this movie. Check out the trailer here!

Archive of SaskGames Charity Events / Access to Gym?
« on: September 16, 2017, 07:55:42 PM »
Hi all,

We are looking at partnering with someone who has access to a school gym so that we can host a day long Nerf War fundraising event. Ideally, it would be a large school gym, with access to the mats, poles, nets, etc. From the equipment room. If any teachers are interested, we would love to partner with you!

Below is the information for a PWYF fundraiser that my team (Necrotech) is running this year.

Dodgeball Tournament for Fun and Charity

Saturday, June 17, 2017
9 am to 4:00 pm

$20 per person

We are running a Dodgeball tournament as a fundraiser for our Play With Your Food team this year. The goal is to have a fun day of dodgeball, and raise money for a really great cause.

The tournament will have 6 teams of 5-7 people each, and have 4 guaranteed 30 minute games over the course of the day. If you are interested, but can’t fill an entire team, please reach out and we will do our best to find you a team.

We are encouraging all players to stay between your games and cheer on the other teams or play board games in the gaming area. A barbeque lunch is included in your registration fee. A small confectionery will be available for drinks and snacks, with proceeds going to charity as well.

To Register:
Please email Davey at daveymclellan AT with the following information:
1.   Team Name (Be creative!)
2.   Contact name, email, phone number
3.   How many players on the team

Payment instructions, and additional information will be emailed back to you.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, June 14, 2017

Gameplay Basics:
Five players from each team will square off for as many matches as then can squeeze into their 30 minute game window. There will be 6 balls on the court. Tournament is co-ed, but no minimum gender component. The top two teams from the round robin will face off in the finals. Rules will be released prior to the event.

About Play With Your Food:
PWYF is a 24-hour board gaming event held in October that raises money for Souls Harbour Rescue Mission of Regina. Registered teams host various fundraisers throughout the year culminating in the event itself. Over the past 4 years, PWYF has raised $120,000 in support of Souls Harbour. For those of you who made contributions to PWYF this year, you may have seen an email from Canada Helps in your inbox (or spam folder) today. As a part of Giving Tuesday, Canada Helps is giving away $3 for you to donate to a charity of your choice if you answer a brief information "quiz." I use the term quiz loosely, as there is no wrong answer, and you get the 'gift certificate' at the end.

Take 1 minute out of your day today to redeem this offer, and continue to support Souls Harbour!

Nice article about an upcoming PWYF fundraiser, and PWYF itself!

Pokemon Go Charity Hunt, Friday August 12 - 6 pm

"The Yips" (Davey, Riley, Mitch, Robert) are hosting an escape room fundraiser in support of Play With Your Food and Soul's Harbour Rescue Mission.

In case you aren't aware, an escape room is a game involving a series of puzzles, dexterity challenges, and logic games that need to be solved in order to escape the room before time runs out. I created an escape room this past winter that people had lots of fun solving, and we will be re-staging it with improvements for this event. Our room is board game themed to coincide with the cause. (Specific knowledge of particular games is not required.)

There are 60-minute games scheduled every 90 minutes beginning at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 25th, and 8:00 am on Sunday, June 26th. Timeslots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We started off by getting non-SaskGames community members to register, and still have some spots, so we are opening it up to all of you! I can advise you specifically which times are available.

Each timeslot costs $80, and you can enter a team of 3 to 5 people to split the cost with. For a team of 5, that is only $16 per person! 100% of the proceeds are going to charity.

It's easy! Just respond to this thread, or send me a PM, and I can get you set up.

Thanks so much,

I see in Murray's Things You Need To Know document in the locked info thread that members of the team will need to let in other members of the team. What are the general rules about coming and going during the event?
