A Thursday works alright for me as I'll already be in Weyburn anyway due to school as long as it works for any others out of towners. Then it's only around 2 'extra' hours of driving. ;p

On the chance that another regular happens to read this.

The most I can field is 1000 as I only have a total of about 1400 points.

I will be at Tramp's this [the 5th of February] to hopefully play a game or two of 40k. Either they'll be long because I'm new or very short because... I'm new... and Tau. So what's this thread for? Trying to make sure there's a newb friendly individual who'll be ther. I'll be able to post my points later on today once I'm actually home and not typing on my blackberry. >.<

Mod(s) if you feel this better fits in the 'looking for players' thread, sorry.

I'd love to attend, as I live in Carlyle though the timing and location decide wether I can attend or not.  Unless we can get some I'm not the best when it comes to navigating Regina.

The quickest way I've found is to just rifle through your deck and make sure the little 'set logos' are all from the right sets. From what I've seen at Tramps, you don't have to worry about Basic Land.

Video Games / Dwarf Fortress
« on: January 27, 2012, 11:08:21 AM »
I can't even begin to try to explain this game to anyone who doesn't know what it is. I'm just sort of hoping someone else has played it and was the right kind of insane to enjoy it. ;p Well maybe I will try to explain it.

Take Sim City, and mix in a little bit of the Sims. Then take away the tutorials, the graphics and add in even more content. That's kind of Dwarf Fortress, the game, if you don't have a "graphics pack" is displayed like a roguelike game, everything is "rendered" in text. A graphic pack changes that however making the game a fair bit easier. The next thing you need to know to play Dwarf Fortress is "Losing is Fun" You will never, never NEVER win Dwarf Fortress, ever. You will lose, a lot and for stupid reasons at the beginning but hey Losing is Fun.

So Saskatchewan, do we have any awesome stories of the downfall of Dwarven outposts?

I haven't played Terraria yet but it's on my list of games to check out, especially with it being compared to Minecraft so often.

First off, that bear video was great. :D

Well I have only one character who is trying to be absolutely everything. I'm contemplating a new character who specializes a little [a lot] more, just for the 'fun' of it.

Not sure what camp I'm going to side with since... well the Imperials tried to cut my head off 'just because' and they're kind of jerks. The Stormcloaks on the other hand are well racist jerks. I'll have to figure out which side has a lower d-bag level and then side with them. :p

Collectible Card Games / Weyburn the Gathering?

This is a bit pre-emptive but; If all goes well I should be in Weyburn quite a lot during weekdays starting in the fall. As such I'm curious if anyone thereabout plays Magic the Gathering... or you know other *cough*40k*coughcough* games?

Ah, good to know I'll get a different map if I wander in again. I'm sure that if they had a little more time some of them could accelrate through some spots. Apparently though if you spend to much time with most of your wheels off the ground the game decides you're stuck. :p It's also apparently upgraded to version 2.0 since last night. >.>

I've got it, but I'll hold off on actually playing a real person until I figure out how to, you know, beat the computer. I've been a couple points away once... but yeah. >.<; The game kicks me around and then salts the earth of all my former towns. Maybe if I'd ever played the actual game, or had half an idea what I was doing.

Quite amusing... but mine seem to have hit a wall at Generation 8. Any car that's remotley viable only makes it to about 385.5 >.<;
Thanks for sharing.
