Title: School Board Games Club
Post by: tlh878 on January 24, 2018, 06:29:20 AM
I am starting a board games club at my school for students in grades 4-8.  I have some ideas of how it will run and the types of games we will start with.  However, if anyone has experience in starting this type of club, or working with a large group of students in this age range I would love to hear your tips and tricks.

Also, we are looking for some games to get this off the ground.  If you have suggestions of games you would recommend to new players ages 8-14 please let me know.  I do have a small budget to work with to purchase a few games.

M. George at École Centennial School started a board game club for that same range this past fall.  You could try contacting him there for how they've organized things, what games have been successful and how it's been going.

So far I've heard the kids really like: King of Tokyo, Sushi Go Party, Forbidden Island, Lords of Waterdeep, Carcassonne and Catan.

Mitch and Jud have board game clubs at their respective schools. You could PM them for info: OriginalMitchez and Mrthejud respectively.
