Title: Looking for D&D Players to Start a new 5th Edition Group in Regina
Post by: TerryD1970 on June 07, 2015, 08:12:35 PM
Hello! I am looking for committed, experienced players eager to start a regular D&D 5th Edition game in Regina.

I am a veteran gamer in my mid-40's and I have played D&D in all its incarnations since 1979. I would like to start a new 5th Edition game or join an already established gaming group as a DM.

I am willing to play just about anywhere in the city, but would very much like to host games for mature and respectful players looking for a fun but serious game.

So if you are looking for a new D&D group to join or a new DM to dig into the new 5E ruleset, please get in touch either by private message, replying to this post, or emailing me at: terry.d@sasktel.net

How does 5.0 look Terry?
I saw 4.0 as a massive step back in Role Playing and decided to skip the $grab

Terry - My wife and I are both long time RPers (I started playing D&D the same year as you) that have been looking for a regular group since we moved to Moose Jaw (from Winnipeg) last fall; leaving behind a 20+ year gaming group.

If you'd be willing to alternate between Regina and Moose Jaw as a venue this could work - I primarily GM, so we could even have the option of two campaigns . . .

Lance - IMHO; 5th is a love letter to 1st/2nd edition with a little garnish from 3rd and 4th added in. I'm curious, what about 4th did you find that hampered/setback role-playing?

Best

Hampered?
Set back?
 - to go from 3.5 where if you wanted to play ___ with levels of ____ that could do ____ = no problem
 - in 4.0 = no can do

Please keep me posted - if the schedule fits mine (which is a bit difficult some weeks) I'd be interested.  I've been RPGing since '81.

I think that particular discussion has been opened in it's own topic.

Lance, the sole-intent of my posting this thread is to find players for a new group, not to discuss / debate the 5th Edition rule-set. I have no interest in such discourse.

Please respect that. Thank-you.

I've been getting the itch to play again.   I haven't picked up 5E but would be excited to grab the books and learn.   I've played 2nd to 4th editions so hopefully i would pick it up quick.

I'm 33 and have a somewhat open schedule although i don't think i could commit to a weekly game schedule.   Every second week would be more realistic for me.

If you're interested let me know.

Well, you didn't indicate that whatsoever, Lance ...  I'm not a mind-reader! :confused

Well I'm glad that was figured out. I've created a forum here (http://forums.saskgames.com/index.php?topic=4857.0) where you can discuss the different editions of Dungeons and Dragons if you have any questions about certain editions. I'm sure there are a lot of people on these forums that can chime in and let you know more about 5E, Lance. That way you can get a better feel for if you would like it or not. :)

Ok folks ... we've got three players so far, but I wouldn't mind at least one more (maybe two?) so if you are interested, please let me know either by posting here or by sending a PM.

Thanks!  :D

Hello, I'm not sure if you are still looking for more players but I might be interested in joining. I'm a noobie when it comes to DnD (only dabbled in 4E), but have experience with a lot of other table top games and can learn quickly. Let me know if you're still looking for more players.

Just a heads-up, I am no longer seeking players as we have a full-table, as well as a few others waiting in the wings.
