What: The ChewsDay Challenge series of events is part of an initiative to host a public weekly game night that is welcoming to new members and is a way for people new to boardgames to experience a beginner friendly atmosphere. A opportunity for people new to designer board games or veterans of the hobby to come out, meet 'n' greet, and play some games. This is held at a great location with full food and beverage service. Come on out and try some games.
The venue is also a great place for Wargamers and Strategy Gamers to come out and play a game. There are some titles that are hard to get to the table, let's try to get them the attention they deserve at a ChewsDay Challenge.

Who: Anyone interested in playing boardgames. The venue is suitable for many different styles of games: (Wargames, Euro Games, Crokinole, Chess, Go, Scrabble, Backgammon, etc.)
Why: Life is Short; Play Games!
Although not necessary, we urge you to post in this thread if you are coming and what games you might bring or would like to play. Prearranging some games helps get some of the harder titles to the table. Perhaps you have seen someone post about a game in THIS THREAD (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=1799.0), this might be an opportunity to get them to bring out the game and show you.
If you are new to the gaming scene in the City of Regina, come on out and meet some others. Feel free to come a bit early and grab a bite to eat. See you there!!! :excited

ComicReaders Downtown and ComicsReaders South have partnered with FoxMind Games in order to bring a selection of their games to the table. Several of the games are quick-playing so there is no need to sign-up in advance. Mingle, listen in, watch, and play the games you're interested in. For example, Dana and Chad are able to teach "Six" in six seconds!

There are lots of people bringing games out to play on ChewsDay Challenge Game Nights. To help attendees maximize their gaming experience we can help schedule games into slots for planning purposes. Post in the thread if you want to schedule a game and have folks sign up in advance. There are TWO basic time slots for this. 6:30pm time slot and 8:30pm. This is the start time for these games. They will be set up earlier. If you sign up for a game, please be there at least 15 minutes prior to start or your seat may be given to someone else. This is not mandatory, casual open gaming is still very much encouraged as well. Hello, everyone! String Railway plays in less than 1 hour so I will be able to run a second and perhaps even a third game of String Railway after the first. So, if you miss your chance to sign-up for the first game, you will still have a chance at Chewsday Challenge to try this game.

I'm a little late to the post for this Tuesday's CC, but have been dealing with a unwanted cold and cough over the latter half of last week and into the weekend. Am almost back to normal.
From the postings so far, it looks like there are a lot of games to consider playing this time. However, if there are exactly four players available (I could be one of them), I could bring along Castle Capers, and teach it. (This is a simple worker placement/dice game from the print-on-demand company, The Game Crafter.) Otherwise I'll wait for another time. Regardless, I plan to be there.
I am going early to grab a bite to eat in case anyone else is interested. I will be there for 5:00pm
I am interested in trying Taiga in the first slot, and fauna in the second, if that works out.

This event continues to grow and each week we seem to hit a new record attendance. Starting next week, we are asking patrons to dine outside of the designated gaming area as we are started to run into space constraints. This will leave the area for games more readily available for people to play games. Quite often, there are a number of us that show up at 5pm to eat so we are ready to rumble at 6:00pm :) Feel free to join us for a bite to eat.
Thank you to all of the people that help make this event possible. The Boston Pizza venue is fantastic. Food and beverage service is great and the lighting is very conducive for playing games.
