Hey there.
Just got an iPad and was wondering if there were some recommended apps for Boardgame utilities or play aids. Such as timers, score pads, or anything else that comes to mind. I am quite an iN00b so I look forward to any recommendations folks might have.
Lots of good boardgames...I play a lot of Tichu, Carcassone and Ascension on my iPhone.
I've heard Suburbia has a great iPad App.
There is also a pseudo-Space Alert app that requires all the players to have an iPad/iPhone and to have the app on their devices. They can then play 'Space Alert' when they are f2f. Apparently, it works really well. It is called SpaceTeam. See below:

Might have to give that a try.
SmallWorld, Agricola and Puerto Rico all play pretty well on iPad. I have a Dominion and Agricola scoring app and a few dice rolling apps if you need a specific die you are missing or lost
Ok, I have had an iPad for almost 2 years now. Here are some of my fave games:
Kingdom Builder
Ticket To Ride
Can't Stop
Carcassonne
San Juan
I have a few others that I have not played enough to rate.
The Lords of Waterdeep app for iPhone/iPad is very user friendly and well presented. I've logged over 100 games online on it in the last few months.
Just got mine a few weeks ago. I've been playing:
Penny Arcade: Gamers vs. Evil
Ascension (with all the expansions)
Lords of Waterdeep
Carcassonne (with a couple expansions... the AI in this game is EVIL)
Agricola
I'd consider getting ticket to ride and/or small world, but I already have them on my pc so... maybe.
Eclipse looks really good on iPad. Makes me wish I had one, or that they'd port it to iPhone.
They just released Hearthstone on iPad.
I hope the iPhone will get a version of it...
The hearthstone app is actually really good playing it on the iPad the iPhone version in my opinion would b too small
Lords of Waterdeep now has both expansions available for it, Undermountain & Skullport.
Twlight Struggle is finally coming out in digital mode early next year!

Recently picked up Ascension (and all in app purchases) and Lords of Waterdeep ( with undermountain) . Both have been getting heavy play times. If anyone wants to play either message me , my username for both is craftybernardo
Yeah, I picked up the second expansion for Waterdeep and I've been playing that a lot. Also got into hearthstone which I play on my pc and my ipad (mini). For all my games, I mostly play against AI because I'm playing at work and I sometimes have to stop for customers. If anyone wants my battle.net battletag it's Stick#1800. I believe my game center ID (or whatever they call it for ipad) is just BigPointyStick, but I'll have to check. (No it's not a reference to genitals)
I added you to my friends list in Waterdeep crafty
Galaxy Trucker is a new one.
Oh yeah, I forgot to post about that. It's a shame I forgot to say anything about it right when it came out, because it was on sale for something like $5. That being said, it's still worth the price; it's one of the best implementations of a board game I've seen to date. Where as others are usually a straight port, Galaxy Trucker manages to put an interesting spin on the single player experience in a way that manages to keep the game challenging and interesting.
I highly recommend it.
I just wanted to add my $0.02 in, Hearthstone is pretty neat little card game, and you don't have to spend a penny if you don't want. Can't wait for them to get the android app running.
Through the Desert, Ticket to Ride, Catan, Carcassonne, Kingdom Builder, Small World 2 (not sure why the 2...). I also like the Qwirkle knockoff "Sixes".
Board Game Stats is a good one to keep track of plays, wins, points, etc for multiple players.
The Castles of Mad King Ludwig just came out. It's very good.
