Archive of Games on Tap / Games on Tap: 2017 Ambassador Rotation
« on: January 13, 2017, 08:09:11 AM »
GAMES ON TAP AMBASSADOR - Responsible for:

(1) Arrive by 5:45-6:00 pm and set up gear by 6:30 pm.
Put out the name tag binders, sign in sheets, players wanted signs and brochures.  Check inventory on blank name tags and sign in sheets.
(2) Welcome members (old & new).
It is important to always keep an eye on the entrance to the gaming area.  We don't want any new people standing awkward for long.  Ask how new people heard about the event, ask if they know about the website.  If there isn't enough time to talk to people when they first sign in, try and make a point of finding them later in the night.  Offer them a brochure.  After 8:30 pm there is rarely new people showing up so feel free to get involved a game, but still keep an eye out.
(3) Name tags
Help people find their name tags, make temporary ones if needed.  All name tags should have first and last name (and saskgames ID)
When walking around remind anyone that isn't wearing a name tag that they need one.  If they are resistant you can say that it is a requirement from O'Hanlons for the servers and staff.
(4) Sign In
Remind people to sign in. It is important for us to track attendance at our events.
(5) Get people in a game
Assist new (and old) attendees with getting involved in a game. Play a game from the ambassador kit if needed.
(6) Announcements
Between 7:30 and 8:00 make the announcements. Ask any saskgames volunteers and/or executive members if they have special announcements. There is a cheat sheet to help with the regular announcements.
(7) Keep a general eye on things
Walk around and note anything that may need attention or discussion. Feel free to ask other saskgames volunteers for help or use the forums afterwards.
(8) Pack up gear after 10 pm
Anytime after 10 pm ask everyone to turn in their name tags, and give the gear to O'Hanlons staff for storage.  Give sign in sheets to an executive member.
(9) Wrap Up Post
Post the wrap up post by 9 am Thursday morning.  It should include a list of the games played (write the titles down throughout the night) as well as the attendance and any special announcements. This post is copied into Facebook and Twitter so try and catch any typos. Here is the Games on Tap Recap Post Template.

ALL OF US - Responsible for:
(1) Lend a hand to help people get signed in if the evening is busy.
(2) Make sure everyone is wearing a name badge with FIRST & LAST name.
(3) Keep an eye out for any issues / troubles and bring them up with the ambassador group if they occur.
(4) At the end of the night, check the area for lost game components

Hoping to get some of these games to good homes!

Tide of Iron - Opened, played twice - $40

Tide of Iron is a game of World War II tactical conflict for two to four players. The components in this base game allow players to simulate the dramatic struggle that took place between American and German forces in Northern Europe during the years 1944 and 1945.

Tide of Iron is a scenario-based game, with the available forces, objectives, map, and victory conditions being set by each given scenario. It features loads of plastic figures, including soldiers, equipment, heavy weapons, and combat vehicles, cards, dice, cardboard markers, and modular game boards that will represent the customizable terrain of this scenario-based wargame.

The twelve double-sided map tiles, plus the dozens of included terrain hexes, allow for limitless potential combinations, and each scenario can be enhanced by special rules, objective markers, troop allotments, and other variations. The only limiting factor is your imagination!

Above and Below - Opened, played a few times - $40

Above and Below is a mashup of town-building and storytelling where you and up to three friends compete to build the best village above and below ground. In the game, you send your villagers to perform jobs like exploring the cave, harvesting resources, and constructing houses. Each villager has unique skills and abilities, and you must decide how to best use them. You have your own personal village board, and you slide the villagers on this board to various areas to indicate that they've been given jobs to do. Will you send Hanna along on the expedition to the cave? Or should she instead spend her time teaching important skills to one of the young villagers?

A great cavern lies below the surface, ready for you to explore-- this is where the storytelling comes in. When you send a group of villagers to explore the depths, one of your friends reads what happens to you from a book of paragraphs. You'll be given a choice of how to react, and a lot will depend on which villagers you brought on the expedition, and who you're willing to sacrifice to succeed. The book of paragraphs is packed with encounters of amazing adventure, randomly chosen each time you visit the cavern.

« on: October 25, 2016, 08:57:12 AM »
Hi there!  I'm hoping to dig into the Heroes of the Aturi Cluster fan campaign, so I'm looking for a few specific ships:

- Millennium Falcon
- VT-49 Decimator
- 2 Lambda-class Shuttles
- Rebel Transport
- HWK-290

If you're willing to borrow, trade or sell for any of the above let me know.  Thanks!

Just had an order I forgot about ship to me, with two games I no longer want/need.  Both are unopened in shrink.

Mythos Tales - $65 - Kickstarter game that's just hitting retail in the US.  Think Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective meets Arkham/Eldritch Horror.

Betrayal at House on the Hill: Widow's Walk expansion - $40 - Requires base game (Betrayal at House on the Hill) to play.  Comes with a new floor (Roof), a bunch of new rooms, new cards for item, omen, and event decks, and 50 new haunts written by a handful of guest designers.

I'll be at chewsday challenge tomorrow (Oct 25th) around 8 if you'd like to pick them up there.
