I would like to drop in one of the Pathfinder beginner sessions. I read they are running all day?

@NeikeDjour we are running the 1 hour introduction sessions through out the day. We are supplying the characters and figurines so all you need to bring is a pathfinder # (we have extras if needed) and a smile.
What is a pathfinder #?  :o
A pathfinder number is used to track all current and future sanctioned pathfinder society events

@NeikeDjour its just used for reporting and tracking which events you have participated in. We have new Pathfinder Numbers with confirmation codes as well and a new player package that will be available. I am just putting it all together as we speak.

@Cordawg Thanks

Role Playing Games / Saskatchewan Pathfinder Society

Hello Everyone,

My name is Melvin Ngo and I am the Venture Captain for Saskatchewan's Pathfinder Society. I thought it would be fair to introduce myself and explain what we have been working on for the past year. I am a veteran of 20 years of Role playing games, dabbling into many variations but mainly playing Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder. I am a Saskatchewan born and raised person who has enjoyed watching the gaming community grow in our province. I live in Saskatoon and travel to Regina for various reasons on a regular occurrence (Go Riders) or to visit our capital city.

I have been working with Chad at ComicReaders (Downtown) and with Dana (Prairie Game Expo) to start a Regina Pathfinder Chapter. Its been a great success so far as all initiatives start small and slowly build over time. We have a dedicated group of players that come monthly for our sessions. Currently I run 2 sessions at Saskatoon's Dragon's Den, 1 session at Saskatoon's King Me! boardgamery, 1 session at Regina's ComicReaders (Downtown) per month. We also attend and/or run sessions at various play days, conventions, expos, and charity events. This is includes the Saskatoon Comic and Entertainment Expo, Prairie Game Expo, Prairiecon (Manitoba), Jimcon (Manitoba), and various others. We also look to expand and to attend a few others this year including the Regina Fan Expo, Gencon, Paizocon, and Tooncon.

We had changed the name of the Saskatoon Pathfinder Society to incorporate other major cities as well in the form of a provincial name, The Saskatchewan Pathfinder Society. We would like to one day expand to other major cities like Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, North Battleford or anywhere that people would like to play Pathfinder. However this generally falls upon myself and our Venture Lieutenant Tyson Pernitzky. We can't be everywhere at once but we are attempting to create a network so that every where can be covered and when people travel throughout the province they can still find a game session they can join in on. Our first expansion is in Regina and it's been a wonderful experience from our first visit to the Prairie Game Expo (Huge thanks to Dana and Chad) to our regular monthly sessions at ComicReaders Downtown.

I am opening this Thread so I can answer any questions people may have or at the very least point them in the right direction. We play Pathfinder sanctioned scenarios at all of our events and all players who participate are accredited for playing or Game Mastering on the Paizo official site. I do all the recording for those sessions and I am usually present at all the sessions, the exception is this years January PGX because I will be at a wedding. Pathfinder Society Organized Play has a set of rules regarding character creation, sources used, and overall guidelines like any other league or sanctioned play. Below are links to two important resources used for our sessions and inside the Organized Play Guide is the process for character creation in Appendix 1. I hope anyone interested in joining us gives it a try, if anyone has any questions they are welcome to send me an email at SaskatchewanPFS@outlook.com. There is also a link to our Facebook page where I post all of our sessions and which scenarios we are running for that day. I will check this forum regularly and I try to respond in a reasonable time but sometimes life does get busy. Thank you for reading this mini essay and I hope you have an amazing 2017.

From the Saskatchewan Pathfinder Society Game Masters and Myself,

We would like to Thank everyone from the Sponsors to the Participants, to the Hosts, to everyone that was apart of the Prairie Game Expo. We had a fantastic time hosting a total of 13 sessions each leading up to an hour each. We appreciated the support and all of the wonderful conversations with everyone. After quite a few conversations we are interested in returning for future PGX.

For those who participated: The sessions have been reported to Paizo.com so if you create a character through their Pathfinder Society section, your character has been credited for playing in the Silverhex Chronicles. We hope you enjoyed playing as much as we loved being apart of this PGX.

We hope to see everyone on October 1st, 2016

Hello Dana,

I was wondering if you guys have had an interest in the Pathfinder RPG at one of your events. I am currently running the Saskatoon Pathfinder Society and we are looking to spread into various areas throughout Saskatchewan. Pathfinder is a free to play Role Playing Game from Paizo which is a variation of Dungeons and Dragons 3.5. The organized play (Society) give special benefits to players, has multiple season modular with story arcs, and allows people to jump in to a session or game with friends. There are introduction modulars that take up to an hour or a full modular that can be up to 5 hours depending on the players ability. If your interested, I would be happy to set something up at Prairie Game Expo. We have participated at the Saskatoon Expo for the last two years and we are looking into other events help promote gaming. If you have any questions you can forward them to me at pfssaskatoon@gmail.com. We also host a bi-weekly event at Dragon's Den in Saskatoon for anyone who is interested in seeing what we are all about. April 10th is our next event and everyone is quite helpful in assisting others. We foster a friendly gaming environment for everyone from younger people to very experienced.

Thanks for your considerations,

Melvin

There is a lot of interest in Pathfinder and D&D, but we find it difficult to find people willing to run RPG events (oddly). If you're willing to travel we'd love to have you, Melvin.

Dana.

Hello Dana,

We have multiple Game Masters who are willing to make the trip to be apart of the Expo. We have quite a few adventures (purchased ones) that we are able to use and pre-generated characters for players as well. As for running the Pathfinder portion we are willing to run it. We just require an area to host it, tables, chairs, and some willing participants. We can bring the rest from Saskatoon. If you guys have the interest to play, we will be willing to help anyway we can.
