I am camping with the family from August 12 - 19. Keep reporting games as they happen-- make sure you date the game and provide all the relevant information. I will update the ladder and the points when I return. I will also do the prize draw when I get back because Round 1 ends August 16. You get entered into the draw for every game you played-- it has nothing to do with ladder standings or points standings. I have some narrative fluff prepared to represent the ladder standings at the end of Round 1. The point standings are related to a special event planned for Prairie Game Expo on September 29.

I won't get a game in before the end of Round 1, but I intend to enter the fray in Round 2.

Thanks for all the reports. I am updating the ladder, points, and game list now.

DESCRIPTION

ComicReaders Downtown is an Official Konami Tournament Store!

Starting in May, Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments at ComicReaders Downtown will have prize support. Each player who played in the tournament will receive a Turbo Pack (booster 8). The pack will be given at the end of the tournament.

In addition, the winner of the tournament will receive 1 OTS Tournament Pack 7.

The tournament will be run with Swiss rounds. The number of rounds depends on the number of players.

Each round is 40 minutes. A timer will be used.

Players are required to register and report wins / losses in a timely manner to ComicReaders staff. Anyone who does not report their games to ComicReaders staff could have their Turbo Pack withheld.

Doors open at 12pm. The tournament begins at 1pm.

These are free events.

Players MUST have Konami Player IDs to take part in these sanctioned events. Temporary IDs will not be allowed because we can't upload tournament results with temporary IDs. Konami has sent us Konami ID cards so we can provide IDs to players without IDs.

DESCRIPTION
Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game is a tactical ship-to-ship combat game in which players take control of powerful Rebel X-wings and nimble Imperial TIE fighters, facing them against each other in fast-paced space combat. Select your crew, plan your maneuvers, and complete your mission!

This is a chance to meet other players, engage in tournament style games, or simply drop-in for a look at this Star Wars themed miniatures game.

Dragon Ball Super Card Game - Schedule for August 2018

DESCRIPTION

The Dragon Ball Super Card Game is the newest iteration of the Dragon Ball license applied to a collectable card game. While borrowing some basic terms and ideas from previous versions of the game, DBS introduces a number of new mechanics including a unique "combo" system, cards used for multiple purposes (energy, combos and characters) and a system designed to emulate the tendency of Dragon Ball characters to "power up" after taking damage.

Players of Dragon Ball Super meet at ComicReaders on Saturdays for casual games. This is a chance for experienced players to meet. It is also a chance for people to learn the game because the players are always welcome to teach newcomers.

Sometimes ComicReaders will host a special tournament for Dragon Ball Super Card Game, but those events will be posted as separate events in SaskGames.

Thanks for the reports, guys.

Cameron C. was the last to sign-up for the ladder campaign and therefore started at the bottom of the ladder. He has now managed to claw his way into third place, which is, in fact, first place since Maeson L and Mike R have not yet played a ladder game and thus are in danger of falling to the bottom of the ladder. Cameron might not be leading in points, but he is ruling the realms with decisive victories! Who is going to knock him off his perch?!

In other news, I played a practice game against my son, using the contents of Soul Wars. We also each took an Endless Spell into battle. We didn't count up points as per General's Handbook. We just fielded it all and gave the rules a run. I had the upperhand early on with points via objectives but his Stormcast Eternals eventually whittled down my Nighthaunts so that by the opening of the 5th turn I knew he could seize all three objectives thus taking our tie game into a victory for him. I conceded, we shook hands, and I was pleased to hear he quite enjoyed the game. (He has played 40K-- Necrons.)  One of things that turned the tide for him was his wizard and a spell that was hitting all enemy units (my units!) within 18 inches. I never managed to deny the spell and though it didn't outright kill a bunch of ghostly dudes it did soften up my leaders before they could get into the fray.
