This coming May, SaskGames will again be organizing and running a Board Game Area at FAN EXPO Regina 2017 for the third year in a row. For planning purposes, the SaskGames Organizers of the Board Game Area are looking for your input and feedback!

What games would you like to try? Maybe you've always wanted to try a miniatures game, like Star Wars X-Wing, but have never had the opportunity. Or maybe you always wanted to know what it would be like to role play as an evil elf wizard in D&D. Perhaps you and your partner want to know what really good two player games there are out there. Whatever you want, we want to hear it! Post it here!

10
Hey All,

I'd really love to try Ares Games' Battle of the Five Armies. If someone out in the Community has this, would you be willing to play it with me some Tuesday at Chewsday Challenge or Wednesday at Games on Tap?

Let me know! Excited to try :)

Brad Boileau

Hey All,

I've been getting quite a bit of use out of my War of the Ring, 2nd Edition board game lately, so I started looking to see if I might get some of the expansions/promos available for this version. Here they are:

War of the Ring: Warriors of Middle-earth (2016)
War of the Ring: Lords of Middle-earth (2012)
War of the Ring - Scenario: The Breaking of the Fellowship (2012)
War of the Ring: Lords of Middle-earth – Treebeard Mini-Expansion (2012)
War of the Ring: Warriors of Middle-earth – Tidings Not Burdens Mini-Expansion (2016)

I'm curious, does anybody have these expansions and may be willing to part with them? I am mostly interested in the first two, Warriors and Lords of Middle-Earth, but I am open to the others as well.

Please message me here or in a PM if you have any information/prices.

Thanks!

Brad Boileau

DURATION: 150 - 180 minutes
MAXIMUM PLAYERS: 16

Tash-Kalar: Arena of Legends League

The Tash-Kalar: Arena of Legends League run by Cockroaches of Burgundy, a PWYF Team, will start in January 2017. Matches will take place monthly at the SaskGames Games on Tap Weekly event downtown and will run for 3 months between January and March 2017, with the finals taking place in the first half of April. Each League evening will consist of 2 games in which participants will be randomly matched to a board using a deck of playing cards. Each of the three monthly League event nights will focus on one of the following three game modes: Team High Form, Team Deathmatch Duel, and Deathmatch Melee. For League nights that involve Teams, partners will be randomly assigned before Teams are randomly assigned to a table and both members of a Team will be awarded the League Points for their victory. Out of 6 total League matches, participants must attend and play in at least 4 to qualify for Finals. In the Tash-Kalar: Arena of Legends League, only the four base mage schools will be available for selection—Highland, Sylvan, Southern Imperial, and Northern Imperial—to make the game inclusive to beginners. In each match, in addition to being randomly assigned a board/partner, participants will be randomly assigned a mage school.

Tash-Kalar Guide Book and Tash-Kalar Full Rules Reference

Registration Details: $20 entry fee per participant or $20 pledge to PWYF Team Page for Cockroaches of Burgundy. Prize for winner is a special Tash-Kalar Engraved Beer Mug! There will be 16 spots available for the League, 8 participants required to run.

Note: SaskGames is running a fundraiser in support of SaskGames, and what better way to do this than to combine it with the opening of our new gaming venue at O'Hanlons: Games on Tap. Tickets can be purchased from any SaskGames executive member (prominent green badges at events) and the meal will run from 5:30-7:00.  $25 will get you an individual pizza, a trip to the salad bar and a pint of beer or skip the beer for a $20 ticket. Free, open gaming will begin at 6:30. You can also post in the event thread below and an executive member will follow-up with you. The money raised from this fundraiser will go towards what we do best—bringing you the best gaming events in the province of Saskatchewan! We sincerely hope that you will support us and raise a glass/slice to SaskGames!

Games on Tap Kick-Off and Fundraiser Notice: We will be selling 50/50 tickets at the event as well! $2 a ticket or 3 tickets for $5! Come out and support SaskGames!
