I could teach Leaving Earth but I don't have much available gaming time until December.  If it's still on your radar then, Matt, let me know.

Excellent, that works.

I would love to be a third on this as well  :8)

Leagues / Re: Twilight Struggle League & Fundraiser 2016/17 Discussion

Dana and I played our game yesterday.  Dana was USA and I was USSR.  Dana won on points on on turn 6 or 7 (but really he had won a turn or two earlier because of a misplay by me that would have allowed him reduce defcon to nuclear war on my turn, he graciously pointed this out and allowed me to change my play).  The foolishly misplayed card was C.I.A Created (of all the cards to ruin me I didn't think this would be the one).  Kept holding it because I didn't want Dana to see my hand of cards but with Defcon at 2 pretty much constantly in the later action rounds I was unable to dump it off without allowing Dana to just force defcon suicide.  During mid war I also played the 3 0p US card "Ask not what your country..." which allows the US to discard any number of cards and then re draw that same number.  I figured it was late in the turn and he only had 2 cards left so instead of spacing it I decided to use the ops points and get the card out of the game so it wouldn't be back in the late war when it might be more beneficial to the US, turns out Dana got to discard the Central America scoring card which would have clawed me back a few points.  I also headlined the middle east scoring card on a turn which would have gotten me some points but Dana's headline triggered first and completely changed the dynamic of middle east from USSR getting some points to US getting some points.

TL:DR - Dana had a counter for almost everything I tried and deservedly got the win  :)

Derek (USSR) and I (US) had an epic game that, for a lot of it, was like bizzaro Twilight Struggle.  I was up to 18 points by the end of Turn 4, which is unusual for the US to have such a strong start.  However, I couldn't close the deal, and Derek pretty quickly got the game back to balance by controlling South America and scoring well in Africa.  In the end, Derek won in final scoring with 20 points.  A real nail biter for most rounds, though.

Game played at Chewsday Challenge.

Sounds like a well played game by both !
